Then what are you trying to do?

In Response To: Kim, I'm not using your business as entertainment, and I'm not trying to bash it.... (MaaMaw)

Maw maw,

First of all on a post I made yesterday I admitted my mistake when I said:

"If you had 4 brand new people join your team this week, you would have made $4,000."

I am sorry that I did not state my last post clearly enough. I want everyone on here to completely understand that the only required purchase to get started in my business is a $99 starter kit. The $99 starter kit provides you with 5 marketing websites, as well as back office training and support on how to run the business properly and ethically.

It is NOT a requirement to purchase the product to participate in the business and you DON'T make money by just signing other people up. I apologize for making it appear that way in my last post.

I couldn't agree with you more Maw Maw, if you are presented with a business where they say you have to buy the product to participate or they say the way we earn money is by recruiting others, run the other direction and fast.

The only way my fiance and I make money is if there is a product purchased from us. The title of the post is called Big Misunderstanding!!
You can see the entire post here:

http://friendsinbusiness.com/board1/index.cgi?read=86058

Our business is direct sales. The only way we make money is if there a legitimate sale of a legitimate product. The compensation plan is an Aussie 2 up. It has been around for over 10 years. If there was something illegal or unethical about it, it would not have lasted that long.

Secondly if you are not bashing my business why do you refer to is as a pyramid scheme? Our business is not a pyramid scheme! Pyramid schemes and gifting programs have no product attached to it. It's just people passing around money and definately illegal!

People get started with our business and eventually are able to quit their dead end jobs. They are able to work from home full time like my fiance and I, and are able to spend so much more time with their loved ones. What is wrong with that?

We are NOT doing anything that is unethical. We don't force anyone to join our business or purchase our products. Countless people are purchasing the product every week and deciding to promote the business. We are not selling them or twisting their arm to do it. They go through the system and see the tremendous value in our product and the great potential in our business opportunity. They get started under their own free will.

Of course, this business is not for everyone. We respect that. But we do not respect people trying to taint our business. I was always taught -- if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

The money we make is great however, that is not the only reason why we do what we do. We do it because we love to change peoples lives. Many people's lives are dramatically changed when using our products or join our business. The best feeling in the world is playing a part in a Mom and Dad being able to kick their dead end job to the curb to come home full time. That is what drives us not the money -- and the reason why we joined a home based business to begin with.

I keep replying to these posts because I feel as though I have to defend my name and my business. In your last post you are implying I am unethical. What gives you the right to say that? What are you basing that on?? You know nothing about me or my business.

Unless you have been in the business or used the product, you are an outsider looking in. You have nothing to base your decision on but yet are rallying the troops to see our business as a scam. You said that you are teaching people the "red flags" but we have squashed every flag you thought you raised on the business. In my opinion -- you should be an expert in the field before teaching others. Let them formulate their own opinions and leave the teachings to the expert guru's like Corey Rudl. We have taken his courses and learned a lot from him and are big fans of his work.

Maw Maw, if you really want to change your financial future you should seriously consider our business. I have not come across anything negative about Emerald Passport, and since you have not experienced it, you cannot judge it from the outside. If you really want to give an honest opinion about it to your community, then try it. Give it a go and earn the right to say whatever you like about it.

If you would like to get any additional questions answered, please don't hesitate to contact us. We can set up a time to talk over the phone.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so.  We are not responsible or liable for any claim arising from the content of any such discussions or postings or for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information contained within such locations on the Site.
You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.  You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual.  We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.
By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example. You grant Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications complete, perpetual, but non-exclusive rights to use, archive, reproduce, adapt, modify, distribute, sub-license, repurpose, rework, compile, or offer for sale or resale the messages, postings or content appearing on this site in whole or in part, throughout the world and universe, on a royalty-free basis without remuneration.  If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board.
In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
