Carol claims: "There is a whole group of victimized ex-distributors left in the wake of this company's bad business!"

International Candle Corporation's attorney states the following, specifically in regard to a post by one Sue Ownesburg which has long since rolled into Ye Olde Inaccessible Archives, "...Sue Ownesburg has never been a client of ICC nor has anyone by her name ever contacted ICC."

They also say "Ms. Ownesburg attempts to relate ICC to a company called 'Candle Brokers.' ICC and Candle Brokers are two unrelated businesses with different addresses, different officers, and different directors."

I'm no expert, but at least as far as I can tell, this is true.

They further state: "If you take the time to research ICC, you will discover that it is a respectable Massachusetts business and has a good record with the Secretary of State and the local Chamber of Commerce."

I did, and that also seems to be true.

I never respond to threats (especially after those two glorious days a couple of years ago when one case was thrown out on its ear and another case ended with the judge ordering the company who sued me to pay $65,000 in attorney fees)... but in this case, I did remove the offending messages for the following reasons:

1. I don't know diddly about ICC. I have done my due diligence, and I can't find anything to indicate that they are conducting a scam.

2. I don't know the several people who posted (strangely, all within a very short period of time), and while on the surface they didn't appear to be the same person, I can't be absolutely sure of that.

3. Similar messages have been removed from Google Answers, so I have to assume they came to the same conclusion.

I am leaving Carol's email address up in case anyone who feels they were scammed wants to contact her and take action together. However, I am not willing to put my personal neck on the chopping block when I have no evidence to show there is a scam involved.

This is NOT a recommendation for or against ICC -- it's a big fat "I dunno."
