sorry to hear this happened to you KS.
i had a keylogger surreptitiously installed on my machine a couple of years ago.
one late friday evening i was purchasing airline tickets, researching domain names AND making a charitable donation all at the same time.
to make a long boring story short, a complicated and fortunate confluence of unlikely circumstances alerted me to the charges on my card over the next 10 hours or so. i got all of the charges reversed, of course.
i immediately purchased and installed the industrial strength version of ZoneAlarm Pro and almost nothing gets through my pipes unless i say it can get through (including that insidious spyware 'windows genuine advantage', heheh.)
if anyone purchases ZoneAlarm Pro and needs some help with the installation and configuration, i will be happy to walk you through it on the phone. it can be a pain the first day if you're not used to it, but the security is worth it. i'm not an expert by any means, but i should be able to get you through the most onerous steps.
and no, i don't promote ZA as an affiliate. i just think it's the best, most customizable firewall available.
of course we don't know if your information was stolen during your online activity, but i really like being able to control exactly what goes in and out of my network.
