I personally hope that millions of people believe it and stop trying to build sites for AdSense.
Go ahead; give up, it's useless! You'll never make money online! It's hopeless! Stop trying! Tear down those sites, cancel your hosting, and let your domain names expire! Go back to the office and get a real job! Move back in with your parents! The economy is collapsing! The sky is falling! WE'RE DOOMED!!!

Nah, didn't read it, won't read it. Google's a public company, which means that the stockholders are going to demand profits. And there's only two ways to make money: either do things cheaper to save money or profitably sell more stuff. Since this step accomplished neither, expect a change soon.
Or just go ahead and give up. Less competition for me!

P.S. -- Has anyone else ever had the thought that perhaps you hear about discouraging stuff like that because somebody is trying to clear out the competition without having to work real hard at it? It's enough to make you think, isn't it?
P.P.S. -- (No, this isn't a sales letter!) Stop trying to chase search engine rankings and start chasing customers. You can create a loyal customer, but you'll never be able to convert a search engine to be loyal. Do you think that I come here to be seen on a site that's highly ranked on the search engines? HA! I come here to watch MaaMaw slap the stupid out of people (which doesn't always work because her hands often get worn out long before the job is done...).
