From an affiliate's point of view, the frustration level is (for me) over the top, and I've only been an affiliate for 12 hours (and sleeping 6 of those hours).
It frustrates me no end that you see my pretty front page when you search for "zoo animals" -- (not like anybody's going to go to SearchBigDaddy to search for zoo animals anyway, but I'm trying to be optimistic here) -- then you click on "View Full Page" and get a "Page Not Found" (but I feel much better knowing that the same thing happens when you click just about *anybody's* "View Full Page").
And this morning, I have an email saying they've added $200 to my PPC account. Noooooo... they added $6 (that's SIX dollars) to my PPC account, as far as I can tell -- and I believe I *earned* that by running six "unique valid searches" through their search engine.
Why do I care?
It's not real money.
I guess I don't care, but then again, if I've got it (the extra $200), I might as well use it to buy another top-position keyword, RIGHT? Can't hurt anything. But if it ain't there, I can't spend it.
Time is money, and I've wasted over an hour hopping all over their disjointed site trying to figure out what's going on (while I alternately smack myself and shriek, "WHY DO YOU CARE?")
"Rob Jean," who posted the first drive-by for this, said he's been in for 12 days and already has $6,400 in his PPC account.
WHO CARES? (Sorry, I keep saying that, don't I?)
It ain't real money.
The only REAL money, as far as I can tell, is going to the owner(s) of the site when people pay to SPONSOR a keyword.
Oh, and something Mel said... she thinks it's like an FFA that doesn't do anybody any good.
I think so, too.
I mean, let's get real. I did six "unique and valid searches" and got paid $6 (and VALID they were, because I was curious who was going to show up for the keywords I wanted but couldn't get).
I get paid $1 for every "unique and valid search" I do.
The person who sponsored me gets paid $1 for every "unique valid search" I do.
I'm still busy doing "unique and valid searches" for tons of keywords just for fun. I don't want to buy anything. No law against that... but $2 is "paid" every time I do.
So there are going to be bzillions of FREE top-position keywords available -- and maintainable month after month -- with this "Monopoly money" that won't buy anything of value (or pay the salaries of the people running the site).
Why would anybody pay real money?
All I have to do to pay my $30 a month to maintain my top position is run 30 "unique and valid searches" per month, and there is absolutely no reason I won't do that -- JUST TO KEEP MY TOP POSITION.
That is not -- I repeat, NOT -- doing the owner of that top keyword any good in terms of traffic or sales (nor, as far as I can tell, is it doing the other top search results any good). I'm getting "paid" (not real money) to run "unique and valid searches."
I'm only going to make real money when SOMEBODY WHO IS **NOT** GETTING PAID TO SEARCH clicks on my top keyword banner or on my search result that happens to show up, then clicks on some of my Google ads or buys something from me.
I don't think there are going to be many people like that, but I could be wrong.
I'm not implying said owner(s) is/are crooked in any way, but for crappydoodle sake, it seems to me if you plan to compete with Google, you'd better have your duckies in a row when they hit the water.
Most of their duckies are floating upside down.
Having said that...
Luv,
MaaMaw
P.S. I forgot to say (no meanness intended) that the site looks SO amateur, I simply can't imagine anyone dumping Google for Big Daddy.

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
