It all really depends on many factors like how much you owe (you must owe 5 figures because they rarely sue for a debt that less than 5 figures).
What you need to do is ask questions on the following forums...

Good luck with this. From what I hear, if you really do owe the money, it may be hard for you to negotiate a pay-off sum since they already got a lawyer and sued you. Although you may be able to negotiate a pay-off sum, it will be more than it would have been had you negotiated with them before they sued you.

PS. Don't let people here or anywhere get you down by calling you a thief. You are not a thief. You just made some mistakes is all. I have no sympathy for credit card companies to the debt collectors they use.
