Wow. I have been here before.
Your inquiry is rather wide-open.
Here are a few suggestions to get the ball rolling.
Wait, before I do, make me a promise.... No make YOURSELF a promise.....
Take one of the ideas that I am spending my time to offer you and do something with it!
Ideas are only ideas until they are put into action.
Action is the key to any business, you have to do something in order to make money.
I also noticed that in your last line you said that it was too hard.
That is not the mindset you need in order to start anything.
All business is hard, I don't care if you want to set up and sell wood crafts that you make, it is also hard.
You could be the best darn woodworker in your side of the Mississippi, and if you don't know how to sell your craft, you may as well be a guy who has never touched a piece of wood.
Sorry to be harsh, but it is fact!
So promise me this, don't be afraid, just put something into action.
The only way to learn is to try, correct? And you said that you are willing to try anything once.
First do this......
Get a regular ink pen, and go sell it to someone for a buck!
This simple task will teach you alot about business, and in the end, alot about you.
Now instead of leaving you in suspense, here are a few businesses to try.
Build a picnic table and sell it.
Build a wood lawn ornament and sell it. (like a wishing well planter)
build a garage golf club storage unit ( you say your creative)and sell it.
design and build deck storage units and sell them to homeowners.
These are just a few quick ideas of things to do that you say you are able to do being creative and good with wood.
Now find out who needs these things, find out how to reach them, find out what they are willing to pay for said products.
I really hope that you will try to sell the ink pen, you will learn alot.
most importantly, don't cheat. If you do, this is something that you will learn about yourself.
Seriously, try to find a person (market) that is willing to gie you $1 for your used ink pen.
Best of luck,
Jason
P.S. If you take me up on the challenge of selling the ink pen, report back to the forum how it went for you.
This challenge is open to anyone who is wondering if they are cut out for business.
I will offer some adice to any and all.....
If you don't try this for what ever reason, don't ever spend a nickel on a biz op as if you can't (or are not willing to try) sell an ink pen, you can't sell what ever you are supposed to sell with the biz op either.
I will start a new thread tomorrow as an open challenge to all that hae thought about starting a business or already have had one.
Even people that have been in business for years can learn from this.

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
