This is nuts.
I agree that it was beyond gross for Dien to keep Randy's question and Don's disgusting reply which essentially called Randy a liar and an idiot, then delete the posts that show Don was lying through his teeth.
Anyway, the whole thread is gone now, which isn't ideal...
BUT IT ISN'T MY BOARD!!
If you want to take Don Alm down, then DO IT. You have my blessing. (Yes, I know I defended him for years. I'm done now... and, I might add, feeling pretty stupid about the whole thing.)
But WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE to you if he's allowed to post on SowPub?
If there are really so many people there who would like to see him gone, don't you think he's frying his own chicken every time he opens his mouth? He goes from Saint to Rabid Pit Bull in seven seconds flat. I don't think people are terribly impressed anymore...
Especially after they read "the evidence" on Jason's web page, which pops up front and center every time you put "Don Alm" into a search engine (and I predict Jim's will soon join it).
He's taken his own website offline several times over the past few months. If you just keep doing what you're doing, he'll eventually unravel.
But carrying on and on and on about how Dien chooses to run his board is really a little over the top. It's NOT YOUR BUSINESS.
The way I see it, you have three choices:
==> Stay away.
==> Stay and say what you want but expect it to be deleted.
==> Start your own Don Alm Hate Board.
But Dien pays the rent at SowPub, so no matter how much you might hate the way he runs his board, it's NOBODY'S BUSINESS.
I piss people off here on a fairly regular basis, and sometimes I lose people. If I decide to piss EVERYONE off, then I'll eventually wind up talking to myself... but if I do, it's MY CHOICE.
You really don't have the right to put Dien on the hotseat and DEMAND answers. You're sounding like a bunch of wacko lawyers, and I'm going to zap you all before the day is done. (Yes, I'm keeping the original part of the thread that tells what happened; I think that's fair, and it will be another strike against Don.)
SHAME ON YOU!
I happen to know you would all be among the first to hit back if somebody came here and tried to tell me how to run my board.
