Hello all,
I'm hoping someone here can help with my problem in figuring out if I'm making the right choice when it comes to changing internet providers.
I've been with AOL for over 10 years and love it but I don't want to pay their $54.00 a month fee anymore. They have offered me another DSL deal but it's still $40 a month and I don't want to pay that much.
Verizon has a DSL deal with connection speeds up to 768 kbps for only $14.95 a month. I just checked my AOL download speed at one of the free websites and was told my download speed was 402 kilobytes in 6.422 seconds. This is all greek to me and I think I may be comparing apples to oranges here so this is where I need some help.
Can anyone tell me if the Verizon 14.95 deal will be slower or not (up to 768 kbps)? I don't download videos much so I don't really need a super fast connection but I don't want something really slow either.
Anybody here have any experience with Verizon DSL or any suggestions of a website I can visit to help me better understand this DSL speed thing?
