LogoWear Direct - additional info

In Response To: LogoWear Direct (Todd)

In continuing my quest to check out LogoWear Direct I have found a distributor at getlogowear.com that says he had to drop his membership in the Better Business Bureau because he did not generate enough business to pay the membership fees.

In addition, I found the attached site with a LogoWear discussion thread that includes comments about additional funds required to get 'resoures' for selling and people not getting paid. "Well I was with them for about 6 months, I did the flyers, biz cards, website the whole sha bang, and well it was all in who you could get in touch with. I didn't have success at it at all. I sent out tons of letters, flyers, the little cd things and I got maybe 6 replys over the course of 6 months, I'd send them catalogs and then nothing, and then the couple of orders I did receive must of not went through, because I didn't get paid. I followed up with my clients and they said everything was good, I soon lost interest because every time I would call LWD I got one of 3 people....seemed fishy. Seems like if their operation was so large they would need more customer service people. Well long story short I no longer do biz with them, customer service was unprofessional and explaining their procedures to clients was confusing. AND their catalog was done misleadingly (sp?) they would show colors available and then say they're not really available but just to show you what it would look like??? Yeah you figure that one out.
So tread with caution, if you already have clients willing to work with you than maybe it will work for you."

This one disturbed me too "I purchased the Success Manual to get a better look at the company. I was really excited about thinking of all the possibilities, but was kind of disappointed in all the costs that you have to pay Logowear Direct before you can get started. I know it's much less than purchasing a franchise, but to have to pay for telephone support just to ask a question that could bring them business, seems absurd! And if you don't buy the services you can't email but rather have to write a letter! How primitive is that. How much are they really trying to help? To me, if you take out all that repetitive lingo about how easy it is and the multitude of opportunities out there (has anyone counted how many times that was repeated?), that manual could be condensed into a few pages. Something in me is still curious about trying it, but as one other message said if you try to contact someone to see if it they have been successful, they don't respond or their website is no longer active. Can anyone say they have made a sale yet?? I would love to hear how it was done. Thanks so much!"

Another site said "Thanks for the imput! Today I spoke with 2 reps who are not even working the business now. Just as I suspected, the company is earning $$$ by their support services. I did a Yahoo search and most of the websites listed are not up anymore."

The company may be legitamate, but I don't think I want to put my reputation on the line with them.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
