In Response To: I agree with Sunil 100%, but it's too much to think about right now (Bloooooooooooooto)

One reason why I say it is too complicated for a newbie to understand which host to pick is because there are so darn many of them. What's even more is that while many will praise one host, just as many will say something bad about the same host. It's just so hard to know which is best for you. The best way I found is to choose one and use them. Don't pay more than one month at a time at first. Then see if you like them and their support. If not, then try the next one and the next one until you can ind one that works for you.

Case in point. So many people have told me that Mesopia is such a great host. But I signed up with them and I found their support to be non-existent. Now, I rarely need much support from my host but I'd hate to think that once in a while when I do they won't be there to answer my questions right or at all. I would tell anyone to stay away from them. Then again, many will say differently. Hostgator is another. Hostgator, IMO, is best if you don't need support often. They answer quickly when you do need them but they rarely ever gave me any good answers to my problems. It would take 7 or more responses to finally get someone that gave me the right answer. Also, I found that they often would not ever admit when they were wrong, always blaming it on something bogus which, if you knew better, you'd know that they were banking of that you might be ignorant and never catch the lies. The only thing is that they offer great reseller packages for those that have many sites (although, I have found you can get comparable packages for less and better support, IMO).

That's why I suggest to just go with GD for hosting now. It will make it easier for you since one company will be everything for you and support will be less hectic. Then, when you have time and you think you are ready, start looking for other hosts (if you want to) and then try them out. I have no idea how responsive GD is for hosting issues but I can't imagine it's that bad. However, I could be wrong. I never used them personally for hosting but many people do.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
