They have the same kind of story that you do (but with a bit better expertise at the website) -- and as you can read, if you had managed to get that going, there would be another offer to give you "special mentoring" for another $6k or so.

I'd start with filing a complaint (give dates, amounts, etc) with the FTC:

And then contact your local County Clerk (they aren't the ones you will eventually go to, but if you talk to them in person they are often far more helpful than a person you've gotten via phone) and tell them your story, they can tell you which agencies to go to and where to get advice.
ALSO... talk to your bank. The finance officers there may have good suggestions for you (at least our bank officers were helpful for our cousin when she got into something similar.)
