In Response To: Dave's cool little web site (Phil)
Here's an article I wrote about them in early march:
Profiting From eBay's Affiliate Program
I meant to get this email out last weekend, but got distracted by
life. This started out as a short note to let you know the eBay
mastermind series is open for new subscribers, but I've added a
short article about eBay's affiliate program.
Before we get started some information about the eBay Mastermind
openings. There are 21 CDs of the latest interview left. Rather
than throw them out - I don't sell back issues, I've decided to
let 21 people into the program. If you order now you'll get the
bonuses listed on the website plus a fantastic interview with
Gary Hendrickson on buying antiques and collectibles in stores to
resell on eBay.
If you've wanted to subscribe, now is your chance. Here's a link:
WARNING - I am only going to keep that link open until the 21
open slots are filled or until March 3rd. If you don't get in,
you'll have to wait until at least April, probably May to become
a mastermind subscriber.
Now for the article. . .
Did you know eBay has recently changed their affiliate program?
If you have a website, you can get paid for sending bidders to
eBay. eBay used to pay 10 cents when you sent someone over who
bid. Now they don't pay per bid, they pay a percentage of the
auction fees if you sent the high bidder.
This is much better. Let me tell you why. . .
I send bidders to eBay from one of my orphan sites. By orphan
site, I mean I don't spend any time on it. I built the site years
ago, and now concentrate on other activities so the site just
I just looked for the results for one day. Valentines day. I sent
three high bidders to eBay on Feb 14th and got three commissions
- 1.28, 3.05 and 4.36 for a total of $8.69.
Even better, that's for just one day. In February my daily income
ranged from a low of 29 cents to a high of $28.36. The average is
just over eight dollars a day.
It adds up. So far this year I've earned over $500.
Not bad from I built a website years ago, and haven't done
anything to for over 16 months. If I spent a few hours driving
more traffic to my site, my income would surely go up. (Note to
self - block out some time to work on site.)
Now when I built that website, I spent weeks sitting in front of
the computer chain smoking and drinking coffee late into the
night. (It was a labor of love.)
But, you can capture some of this eBay largess much easier.
Back in October, I interviewed Tim Knox for the Mastermind series
and since then we've become friends and frequently talk on the
phone. I was on the phone with Tim Knox last week, and he
mentioned his assistant's website.
Tim's assistant Dave built a website to get eBay commissions. He
also set the site up so it has google ads, and sells ebooks in
order to add income sources.
What a great idea. But Tim made Dave take it a step further. You
see once people started hearing about the site, they wanted Dave
to help them set up sites for them.
Tim told Dave he couldn't spend his time at work helping
others build sites, so if he wanted to help others he had to
make it easy.
Did I tell you Dave is a really bright computer nerd? He can even
confuse me - actually that's not really as hard as it sounds.
Anyway, Dave wrote a program so anyone can have a site like his
with almost no effort. Just fill out a simple form and Dave's
wonder program builds a site.
That's a lot easier than endless nights of coffee and cigarettes
hunched in front of a computer.
If you'd like to have Dave set up a site for you, check out
Little Dave's Website
That's all for now.
Affiliate sales on eBay?

| PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
