Agreed. But their motives could be interpreted to be self-serving. Looked at one way, it's a totally good thing to have one's own family's finances under control and optimized. But then the church that organizes the training takes advantage of your own improved situation to manipulate you for increased donations. And Crown benefits:

Several studies of the graduates from our small group studies indicate that as a result of this teaching, students increase their giving by an average of 70 percent, resulting in millions of new dollars available for Kingdom work. "
Now this motivation may be totally faith-driven, in which case I have no gripe. Or it may be a way to make a parasitical living for folks who should find real jobs. We've all heard about some great bombastic televangelists caught in unethical behavior. And their staffs are likely composed of well-meaning people who wouldn't think of diverting donations for personal enrichment or entertainment. But it happens, and it's hard to tell ahead of time which it is.
Just because it appears to be faith-based doesn't mean it should escape critical examination.
Why do I dare call to shine a light on possible religious abuses? The church-based "gifting programs" for one. The con artists take advantage of folks with their guard down. My local city just had a pyramid scheme operating in the Hispanic community churches, with "investments" claimed to be pooled into a big down payment to allow folks to buy their first home, then paid back for the next home buyer in turn. Looked good when explained - but the cycle time is far too long to allow every investor to get into a house. The organizers were busted.

I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.
