When you get to the point where you are enmeshed in marketing everything becomes fodder for your creative juices.

Last Month Becky Hagel's dog was shot by a drink hunter. Rather than obsessing on the loss of her dog, she put her energy into raising money for her local dog shelter, and raising awareness of the problems created by idiots with guns.

I am sure Willie's deal is similar. When my sister got married, my dad held the wedding on Sunday at the same hotel we used on Saturday for a large show. She didn't care, and I doubt Willie's daughter cares.

The only people who care are outsiders who judge people in order to inflate themselves.

That's another point. Sales campaigns are designed for the buyers. Not for talkers. Both Willie and Becky have core groups of followers. The campaigns are designed for them, not for the woman who complained about raising money for dogs when childrens are starving in Africa, or the wantabee marketer who is shocked that Willie would use his daughter's wedding for an excuse to bump his sales.

Here's an exercise for you. Look at what other marketers are doing and come up with your own way. Watching these plans unfold has given me some great ideas. I don't know how well my emerging plan will work, but I'll know in May when I take action.
