eWeek has a number of software testers that test and review many applications. From an article, eWEEK Labs Picks the Top Products of 2005 they chose WordPress as the best blogging platform.
If you need help with it, there is a lady, Teli Adlam, who I consider to be the WordPress expert who has written a guide about optimizing WordPress. Her site can be found at www.optiniche.com. Although I haven't read the eBook, I have a great respect for her knowledge and abilities. I would expect you would find this eBook invaluable. It sells for $97.
I wrote an article about a Mailinglist plugin for WordPress and if you're interested in having your blog look like the rest of your site, you will see a screenshot of my WordPress blog. Take note that the blog you are viewing the screenshot on looks exactly the same, but it is a Movable Type blog, which is the platform I prefer. You will see both blogs have been customized to have the same look and feel as my site. If you need some help customizing your Wordpress, consider hiring Teli for the job. Yes, I could do it too, but I'm not taking on any new clients or jobs this month. I've got all I can handle.
