Carla. As far as the site I link to, it's not mine. Just a site I came across that I think is useful to anyone who reads my posts and is looking for internet marketing info. So I really can't answer any questions about it.
How do I make money? Well, some things I cannot share, but 2 ways I am making money right now that I can tell you about is basically affiliate marketing and AdSense marketing as well as buying and selling domain names. None of the things I do really make me much money right now, though. Just enough to pay some smaller bills.
I have made money online (as well as offline) doing other things in the past, mainly selling physical products (on marketplaces as well as my own websites). However, it's really not for me. I don't really like selling physical goods to the general public and it is hard to find good sources for products unless you have a huge budget for inventory as well as a place to store it. Dropshipping can work but you have to find a decent dropshipper, which is not easy to do. Most dropshippers found on the net are terrible and should not be in business. others, while good, are not providing products I want to or can sell.
Due to some health problems and money problems I have suffered recently, I will be looking for a FT job and also keeping this PT job that I have right now, if I can. Because, well, I need money badly at this point in my life. I am just trying to get up a few more sites and then work on them part time after hours after I find a FT job.
One thing I wish I could make money doing is helping people to think through different business ideas they have and to help them get things started but I'm not too sure there is any money in that. That's the case with most things I like or that are genuinely "good". There's just no money in it or not enough to consider it a viable way to make money. And it takes up a lot of time.
Oh well, that's where I am at this point.
But as far as a host, I don't know what you mean about finding a "relevant" host as you stated in another post. You just need to get one. Most are good enough for what you will need and to start out with. Don't worry about that. It's the least of your worries. What you need to do in know how to get a website up once you do get your domain and your hosting company. You will need to learn how to use an HTML editor. You'll need to use a WYSIWYG editor. (WYSIWYG = What you see is what you get). Some people will tell you that all you need to do is learn HTML coding, but that is highly unrealistic for someone who has to juggle everything. It's much easier to use a WYSIWYG editor, which you can get free here http://www.nvu.com/. Besides, once you do learn some HTML then it is a matter of putting up a site that is appealing to your target market. That's not easy to do if all you know is basic HTML.
I'm not going to lie to you, it's not going to be easy to learn how to get a site up, how to promote that site, and SEO and all that stuff, especially if you really have no clue to begin with. But it is doable. It will, however, take up a lot of time and require you to be a go-getter that is willing to learn new things and is not afraid. Sure, you can pay people to do it all for you but it isn't cheap at all. Of course, this would be ideal since it would leave you to do what you do best and already know. But with limited funds you have to do it all yourself. And don't forget, SEO is not something you learn about then forget about learning. It is something that you have to keep learning because it's ever-changing and it will always be that way. What works today could literally be obsolete in a matter of a few months.

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
