First, I am not taking a shot at you and not looking to start a fight.

I have bought some stuff from infomercials and feel I have gotten good info at a pretty cheap price; comparable in price to buying a book at a bookstore.

I think I posted a fairly detailed explanation of what to expect if you buy from an infomercial. It's the business model. No surprises there. If someone doesn't want that exposure, don't order it.

Is it junk? There's the old saying "one man's junk is another man's treasure"
Here's some of the stuff I've bought and what I got out of it that I was able to use.
1. Russ Dalbey's Note selling course.
I do real estate for one of my streams (or trickles, sometimes). I knew practically nothing about notes and felt that I needed to know more. I felt I got a good basic education for around $30. After looking at the "opportunity", I felt it was a lot of work for little return and did not suit my goals. But, there are people who make a living doing it.
Was I upsold? You bet. Just say no. No big deal.

2. The Ebay guy, I think it's Mike Enos. I bought his package for around $40-$50 and learned a greatr deal and have successfully sold some stuff on Ebay. I only use Ebay to help clean house; I'm not a regular Ebayer. Sold $1000 bucks of stuff one month in large part to that course.

3. The little classified guy. Don LaPre, I think. $30 or so and learned a lot about how to use classifieds for marketing. For me, it was worth it.

Back to the difference. I am looking for what I can find to learn and help me. If you see it as junk, it probably is.
These people are selling information and knowledge. Same as your doctor or attorney.
As far as filling your inbox with offers, you can do 2 little things; delete or unsubscribe. These are not the spammers, you can unsubscribe anytime and never hear again.

Outrageous prices? Once again, it's a matter of perspective. Another saying. "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance" I started off without education and lost a lot of money. Some of it with bad gurus some of it not knowing the right things to do. Mistakes that I now know how to avoid.

I have given Ron LeGrand around $15K-$20K for his bootcamps. I'm not rich, far from it. But I don't have to go to a job, have made that money back multiple times.
I paid once and use it over and over. And I immediately used what I learned and made each bootcamp's tuition back.
I don't know if Tom will use the info he's looking at or not. But,you need to act on it. It's just knowledge.

Hope I haven't offended. It was not what I set out to do.
I guess, mainly, your expectations will determine what you get out of something.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
