I wasn't going to mention this because I have nothing against Michael Mayhew (he posts here sometimes and is perfectly pleasant), but this just blew me away.

Could be I just don't "get it" (it wouldn't be the first time!).

I was on Bloglines going through my feeds, and there was his latest blog entry. It referred to "150 Complete Adsense Sites" he had just "downloaded" (I think he meant uploaded) and listed http://www.ecommerceautomations.com as an example site.

It wasn't clickable in Bloglines, so I just typed in the URL (which was listed twice), and to my surprise, it wasn't an example site at all but a long sales letter that had absolutely nothing to do with the subject at hand.

That was Befuddlement #1.

So I went directly to his blog and CLICKED on the link that said "http://www.ecommerceautomations.com" but it took me, instead, to a site called AdsenseReady.com.

That was Befuddlement #2.

I never did see an "example site," but I did end up at the list of 150 Complete Adsense Sites he was referring to here. (Ooops! I spoke too soon! There's an "example site" on that page in the form of a couple of screenshots.)

At this point, I was way past Befuddlement.

I thought people were generating those "Adsense Sites" by using automatic link sucker-uppers and automatic content generators and other such annoying stuff.

That's bad enough.

Now you're telling me they can BUY the bloody things ready-made??

YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING!!

Bzillion of "content-rich sites" -- all *exactly* the same except for those great "custom H1 tags" and "custom title tags." Oh, and we mustn't forget the "RSS feeds to defeat duplicate content filters."

What a wonderful contribution to the internet!
