Coastal Vacations

Here is a little insight on Coastal:

I signed up for the Coastal Package in hopes of making some real money working from home. Now - the package itself, I was told, "sold itself", however, you at least have to purchase the level one package to get started and that costs $1,295.... not chump change. Okay, so this package includes 5 complimentary cruises, 30+ complimentary accommodations, and numerous savings on golf, entertainment, dining, condos, airfares etc. They are good for life. So after you drop the $1,295 on this level I package (more if you upgrade to international as well which is almost $4k) you have to activate your membership for an annual fee of $89. Coastal wants you to become a member before you start selling. There are 2 ways to sell Coastal. 1) Retail - sell solely as a vacation package or 2) Biz Opp - get people to join your team who also want to sell the opp to others. Thus you build your pipeline and up line. Their first to sales would go to you as your first 2 sales went to your up line director. Now, upon joining you have to pay about $130+ to get your website (already designed) and 800 number. Then it's $80 per month to keep that going. Now, you have to have money set aside for acquiring leads, advertising, marketing materials etc. You need to change your phone service so you have nation wide coverage. The more targeted leads you purchase the better chances of ROI. So you could spend $60+ for a batch of 25 leads (they say are targeted or pre-screened/ what this means is they are interested in a biz opp like everyone else and have spoken with someone on the phone who conducted a pre-qualifying survey) I purchased many leads spending over $500 and had little success. Granted, you need to smile and dial many times before reaching someone - and even after you have spoken to that person, it may take 4 more conversations with them to close a deal. The majority of the people I spoke with were turned off by the investment alone. You get $1k per $1,295 sale and the money gets to you via Paypal before it hits the distribution center. Now, your director may tell you - people will find a way to get the money if it's something they want to do. I believe that to a point, however, I don't want someone draining their only savings to join something that may or may not work out for them. I have had many years in sales and still that is something I could not live with. They target Coastal to SAHM - which is a big mistake. It's very hard to be on the phone all day and take care of small children at the same time.

I pulled out of Coastal in about 6 months. With any sales job - you need to build your pipeline and that could take a good 3 months of hard work. I am not saying that Coastal can't and hasn't worked for others - I think they tend to mislead somewhat in their sales of biz opps. They claim they are not a MLM. Hmmmm.... I don't agree with that, as there is a pipeline. It's shorter than most. It's a gamble as with most opps out there. I just wasn't seeing the ROI I had expected and decided to pull out.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
