I believe he gave us an update recently and was NOT recommending the opportunity.
Don't know if you've ever been in a health foods store, but yeah, they do try to persuade you to buy many things (including Xango juice, which at our local store they are having a hard time with. They can't seem to unload it, even on the 1/2 off table.) So it wouldn't be unusual to have someone accost you and then hand you brochures -- whether or not you were THAT interested.
But... from what was said elsewhere, the "one scan and then they give you a report" is REALLY suspicious. Now... part of this is that I know that skin tones vary wildly (as any woman can tell you when you try to match makeup with your skin (an impossible job for mine because I'm so terribly pale).) And another part is that I've been reading a book on quacks -- one of the quack practices of the 1800's was to send your urine to a specialist (quack) and he'd send you a letter back telling you what was wrong and what you should do. One of these quacks claimed he could tell how many steps someone had fallen down to break a bone -- simply from the urine!
So this, without a baseline and other checks (blood test to confirm) kind of has that certain feel about it.
However... uh... original point was that Dave isn't so married to that egold thing as you think. You may have missed his other posts advising people to avoid it.
