Both of them seem to have very similar kinds of distributors, who are skilled (if they last at all) at convincing you the product is worth thousands of dollars. Both of them also seem to have bunches of disillusioned distributors who didn't have those rare skills, but who bought into the opportunity, not caring what the product was. They just got distracted by the lure of easy money, no work, and the testimonials of the few successful ones.
Coastal's product is a discount vacation operation. Emerald Passport is an informational product (videos, CDs) to enhance your ability to embrace wealth (as if it would bounce off harmlessly if you hadn't prepared yourself). Perhaps both, but EPI for sure, after they get you on the hook for $1200-2000, will also try to upsell you on additional products, meeting, and offshore seminars, because (I believe) some folks will throw good money after bad until they've lost all they can spare and then some. If your threshold is $20,000, then they aren't done with you until they've extracted the whole $20,000.
