if you sell an ebook on eBay you can be just about certain that people are going to buy it and either sell it themselves on eBay at a greatly reduced price, package it with hundreds of others, or give it away free as part of a different offer.
In the end, selly your ebook on eBay will only drastically reduce the perceived value of your book.
Is it right?
Of course not.
Is it legal?
I'm not an attorney, but I'm sure it isn't.
If nothing else it's agains eBay's policies which state that if you sell any kind of downloadable product on eBay you must be the copyright holder. Resale rights, private label rights, licensing rights don't count. Copyright holder only.
However, the reality is that there are so many people doing it that it's impossible for eBay to police. They will terminate specific auctions if someone complains about them. When no one complains the sellers just keep listing them.
