we can't all be on top, or in the top ten, or in the top fifty, or.....
That's why I think every SEO company that claims they'll get you on top should be run out of town. It obviously isn't possible, so I decided I wouldn't bother. FIB grew without being on top of anything, and that was good enough for me.
HOLY CRAPOLY, WAS I WRONG!!
My AmericaZoo site is getting between 3,000 and 5,500 uniques per day. "Not too shabby," I said to myself, considering I've only had it back online since October (it was offline a few months when its previous owner died).
When I discovered that virtually *ALL MY TRAFFIC* was coming from the few dozen critters that are in the top five or top ten results on Google, and HUNDREDS (like poor Mr. Giraffe, f'rinstance) aren't even in the top *400* (therefore, are bringing me *ZERO* traffic), I decided then and there that I can quadruple my traffic (and my Google Adsense income) by "getting it right" on *ALL* my critters!!
If it can happen with a few dozen, it can happen with a few hundred, and it has become an obsession for me. (I'm having trouble squeezing it in with all my other obsessions, but I'll find a way.)
I would have agreed with you 100% a month ago, but I'm seeing it in a different light now.
