...I don't care. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me want to hook up a wireless connection here. My laptop and desktop are set up on the standard wired system, consisting if a gateway to the Internet, a router/switch and CAT5 cabling. Secure enough as long as I pay attention to the details, and if someone wants to break in they've got to do it the old-fashion way-- wiretaps. Something I might notice if it's done on this side of the wall.
"But, Mike, what about when you're on the road? Your laptop won't connect without wireless." So? On the road, the only time I need it is to look up a couple of map programs, which happen to be onboard the laptop. Either that, or maybe I'll write a new page for my website. That can be kept onboard until I get home, where I'll transfer it to the website by way of the wired network. Besides,trying to keep up with email, text messaging, IMs and message boards WHILE DRIVING is a really bad idea anyway. It can wait.
