Posted By: Bob Baroner In Response To: Harsh Reality For Bill C., MLM'ers.... (Dale)
Sunday, 4 December 2005, at 4:45 p.m.
I do business with a company that sells certain products for cars that is the regarded the best product of it's kind by most car and racing enthusiasts.
I will not give the name of the company as I do not care to recruit anyone form this post or be accused of it, but they are over 30 years old and if you are a car or racing buff, you have heard of their products. You will see their logo at many different types of racing events as many racers use the products and many are sponsored by the company.
The company chose (from day 1) to use the MLM method. However, they NEVER push you to recruit people. They are mainly concerned that you sell the product to the end user and they even leave you alone in that area, they just let you run your own business. You can do this many way: Catalog sales, sales at fairs, brick and mortar sales, etc. You can sell it any way you like accept for on eBay.
There is a mom and pop auto parts dealer in my city that exclusively sells their products. This guy actually supplies the local Harley store (yes, many Harley enthusiast use these products). There is also a snow mobile shop in my city that sells their products, too, as many snow mobile racers use these products as well. Most of you on this forum probably have a dealer in your area that has a brick and mortar store that sells these products. HOwever you will never see the product in stores like Walmart or Kmart as the company does not allow the product to enter this distribution channel in order to protect the value of their products.
The company is legit, the product is legit and is regarded as the BEST by it's rather large niche of customers. The company has various distribution centers all over the USA so that they can get product out faster and it also allows you to go an pick up inventory for your store if you are a seller that actually stocks products in a brick and mortar store.
The company is MLM and they have been forever, for over 30 years now.
So tell me something, if MLM is a scam, why is it that I have not yet gotten scammed and why is it that this company and their product have been around for over 30 years using the MLM model?
Please, enlighten me for I am open to suggestion as to how I have been getting screwed without even knowing it for these 3+ years that I have been selling their product. PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES, there are scammers and cults likle Amway out there that use the MLM model BUT THAT IN NO WAY MEANS THAT ALL COMPANIES THAT USE THE MLM MODEL ARE SCAMMERS FOR CRYING OUT FREAKING LOUD PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
