I don't know what service you're using, but I'm using Verizon. I DO have touch-tone on my cellphone and have no trouble with the "press one for this, two for that" stuff--except that I have come to believe that "voice jail" is just about the worst customer service ever conceived by anybody.
One point in favor of land lines-- emergency services. In some areas, land lines are the quickest and best way to get police, fire and ambulance help to your home when you really need it fast. That's because a land-line phone is linked to a fixed location. To do the same thing with a cell phone, emergency services have to triangulate your signal with two or three cell towers. That consumes time that you may already be running out of.
I have both cell and land line. I use my land line primarily for local calls, and the cell for everything else. At that, I sometimes have to resort to the land line because the signal is not always good on the cell.
