This could certainly cause you a major problem with google by triggering their duplicate content penalty.
Because they already have your html file in their cache, Googlebot will read the php page and the algo will consider it to be a duplicate and NOT a replacement of the html page.
You might be able to avoid the duplicat penalty by using Google's RemoveURL tool for the html page but you might lose any Page Rank you have already gained.
If yours is a commercial site you might be better of by changing to a better host that allows you more control over your site.
