A real windfall has landed for those of you doing online auctions -- Yahoo Shopping, a price comparison site, brings up onlne auctions for shoppers who are comparing prices. And if your item is being sold on Yahoo Auctions, it can end up being recommended to someone who is searching for that item from a retail source.
According to a news article from the Associated Press, many people are starting to do their Christmas shopping online and are using price comparison sites to figure out where to get the best deal for gifts:

Yahoo's recommendations aren't THAT good right now, so it makes the strategy of buying some long term "dutch auctions" not that good at this time. However, it does offer hope for the small business person with handmade items that they can get picked up in price comparison search engines next year.
It's been my (casual) observation over the years that different things sell on different auction sites. Yahoo's always been a good site to get near-wholesale prices on a lot of items (I've picked up stuff for flea markets there and did well)
