Rip off report-Careful

In Response To: Secrets internet Guru's don't want you to know: (Maurice McCown)

If you always look for the negative, you'll find it. You'll never get ripped off but you'll never do anything either.
If you're worried about buying something and it's not what you want, most, if not all, offer refunds. Just send it back. If there's a problem with getting your refund, as a last resort, do a chargeback with your credit card company.

Be careful of relying on rip off report as a completely unbiased source. Oh, and John Reed, too.
Here and other places there are lots of comments about the shortcomings of each. Nothing wrong with looking and weighing as part of the other viewpoint.
As far as the 2 gurus you mentioned, my personal experience with Russ Whitney is bad but there are people doing his thing quite successfully. It really pains me to even imply anything good about him, by the way.
Sheets' program ain't too bad. My suggestion is if you are slightly interested is to go to eBay. You can find his course being sold for under $100 regularly.
Now, it's time to get on my soapbox again.
Infomercials are marketing pieces. I love infomercials for the marketing examples and could be a junkie if I watched TV or had cable. They are there to sell something. There must be some truth to the claims or the FCC would shut them down. Someone is using their stuff and making money. If this is true, then, is it a scam?
What happens is people fall victim to the allure of "getting rich" Me, too.
There ain't no way to get rich quick without some work. Systems help, too.
What a lot of these things offer, really, is a system; a way to cut down the learning curve.
You get to learn from the mistakes they have made so you don't have to make the same ones.
I am a full time creative real estate investor and I actually got started from a Russ Whitney infomercial. I spent quite a few $thou and, for me at least, was on the wrong track. After wandering through the wilderness, I found the guru that worked for me, Ron LeGrand and have given him quite a lot of money. Made it all back in multiples. But I applied what he taught.
Let me be sure to point out that I'm NOT rich by a long shot. Some months I have to juggle to keep the lights on.
BUT, I am able to get by without having a job that I hate and my business keeps getting better as I apply more of what I learned and work at it.
Can you get rich? I don't know; others do.
Do something, take action. Taking action will get you further along than doing nothing.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
