I sell primarily to business. They buy to meet specific needs far more often than they do for "wants". They need ink pens for the counter, along with coffee mugs, calendars, and thousands of other products to help build "top of the brain" awareness with their customers and prospects.
Individuals spend more of their discretionary money for wants compared to needs. But, with business budgeting, little money is set aside for wants, as needs get the priority.
Othere than an occasional family event, I mostly sell to business, industry, clubs, organizations, associations, and gov't agencies from local schools systems to buyers in various federal departments.
Everyone needs to understand their particular field and client.
A carpenter buy a drill not because he wants it, but because he NEEDS to make holes.
