Google doesn't always index sites straight away. Sometimes it does them the following month, sometimes it takes a while.
Make sure all your pages are linked together and google should hopefully eventually index your site. While I have never seen this problem with google, with some othe search engines if you have bad errors in your HTML coding, especially for links, the site may not get fully indexed. In the meantime, start trying to build up links from other sites to your site, by swapping links, writing articles or whatever.
788,868 with Alexa simply means that you are the 788,868th most popular site with Alexa users. Alexa users are those Internet users who have the Alexa toolbar installed. Basically you probably could achieve this rank even if only a few (maybe just you) are visiting the site with the toolbar enabled. So this is not inconsistent.
