I decided to unsubscribe from Corey Rudl's old ezine shortly after his death. I went through the process as per the newsletter and the final page said "You have been unsubscribed".
But the newsletter is still coming; to a different address on my website. One that I didn't believe I would have used to subscribe.
So I went through the motions again to unsub and got the same message at the end of the process.
Then, just as a test, I pasted the remove link into my browser and changed the email address that was plugged in their to one on my site that does not exist; I would not have used it to subscribe. And after going through the whole process I got the exact same outcome.
This concerns me more than just a little. I definitely unsubscribed and yet I still continued to get it and it appears now that going through those motions isn't really accomplishing anything.
I just hope, in memory of Corey, that those who are now running things (email from some "Derek" or something like that) aren't using SPAM to keep the whole thing running. All I know is that I unsubscribed and still continued getting a newsletter that I don't want.
Any thoughts?
