I think I can expand on this a little.
The only way this makes sense is if they're marketers and designers, and you already have a great product that people will buy, and they claim to be able to multiply your profits. If they accept clients who are just anyone, and claim to make you that much money even if you're a moron, it's a scam.
Or alternatively, they honestly believe they know of an investment where they can get that kind of return, perhaps by betting on the sure thing at the local racetrack. This is similar to betting on the "undervalued" stock. A stock becomes valued just fine a day or two after the latest news is aired.
The only way people make more money than other people is if they have a product or service that's better than anything else. That might include the personality or skills required to do a certain job, which usually involves the willingness to work hard, or some kind of genius. Bankers make money by simply having a lot of money to start with and earning interest and not taking risks. Bankers tend to be richer than pretty much anyone else.
