True, but it's considered "good webmastering."

Government information is, by Federal law, public domain. If the government puts it up, you can use it and reprint it. The exceptions involve money and postage stamps and certain other similar images.

That's for the creator themselves (only.) Not placing copyright on material is a Bad Idea (as is trying to copyright it under a pseudonym unless it's a DBA ("doing business as.")

I'm a cheap person and I think it's a lot more effective to look up public FAQs rather than to spend money for a "course" that may or may not be good.
