I've been worried for a while that Corey's operation, Internet Marketing Center / marketingtips.com, wasn't sufficiently harsh on their spammers. The posted no-spam policy looks like it has loopholes, and they have a history of offering an address harvester as part of the software toolset. This got them blacklisted in 2001, and some marketing guy, Derek Gehl, engaged the anti-spam community with promises and commitments, then disappeared. The address harvester was deleted from their web site, but I still see spam from his members, and never one reply to spam reports. Can't tell if they took action or what. I gave up on them.
And now they have an affiliate (Keith Bering) who spammed me on Friday - and again, no reply from abuse@marketingtips.com. Keith also spammed a spamtrap address for the SBL (Spamhaus Blocklist), and that got them slapped into the filters used by over 400,000,000 email addresses.
Maybe they're taking the weekend off and we'll hear from them on Monday.

Anybody with contacts inside IMC, or an address for Derek Gehl if he still works there, is invited to have them contact me and address their spam problem. Their web site also posts an address "support@marketingtips.com" but if you email that you only get a lame reply saying they get too much spam and your inquiry is going to be ignored unless you go fill out a form on the web site. Forget it. If the offense (spam) happens by email, they can bloody well accept reports about it by email. If their abuse address isn't monitored on Fridays or weekends, and they can't be bothered to send an acknowlegment that they even received the report, then they're just not up to modern fish & game standards to play with the rest of the kids.
