I did join a real estate program based out of the states (EMI with Robert Allen), and although I don't regret joining as I have learned alot and am doing what I learned..it is very expensive and doesn't always apply to my local area (in Canada). I have since taken local courses which I have found to be very helpful with legal issues regarding contracts and other creative investing techniques.
There are so many ways to invest...and so many different techniques. I would recommend besides joining a local club and finding a local mentor which is the best...also to go to the library/bookstore and pick up some books on the topic and start reading.Its good to become familiar with the terminology and is cheaper than signing up for a guru course. I am buying several properties every year and am slowly building up my asset portfolio as the other person suggested you do as well.
