"Certification course" eh? :-) hehe I see...... Whats going on is that they aren't selling enough life insurance policies to make money so the upline has their own "certification courses". Correct me if I'm wrong, but the coursework is for the insurance test and the Series 6,63 tests? Those courses are usually around $200. $1100 is ridiculous, but necessary considering the fact that they don't sell many policies. When you don't (or can't) sell life insurance to people, you recruit people and sell them "certification courses" for $1100. Pretty good eh?
World Financial Group is ostensibly a financial brokerage firm that sells variable life insurance policies as well as mutual funds, IRAs, annuities, etc. Yes, one can join this organization and have them sponsor you so you can take the insurance and securities exams so you can sell those products. But as you guessed (correctly), they are there to get you to recruit warm bodies into their downline.
If one wants to get into the insurance and securities biz, there are better companies. Reputable companies will require a resume and references and they will pay for the prep classes for exams. And when you get the licenses, you sell the products, not recruit people.
There are a lotta these fools in my area and once in awhile they approach me and try to recruit me. After having been fooled once into going to a meeting, I have since caught on to their game and I'm on to 'em right away. They'll start with some compliment like "wow, I really like your attitude!!" or "You're very professional!!!" or some such nonsense. It's just that I'm a salesman, so they think I'd be perfect for their MLM.
The last lady that approached me told me, "I think you'd do well in my financial firm!!" I'm like, "Oh yeah?" So I was thinking to myself, it hasta be either Primerica or World Financial Group. Since WFG was more popular in my area, I said, "Hey, lemme guess..... World Financial Group?" and she was all surprised, "What? You heard of us!!:-)"
Of course I heard of 'em. I looked up " WFG scam" on google and I got tons of info as well as being tricked into going to one of their recruiting sessions a few years ago..... so yeah lady... I heard of 'em. Anyways, I was polite and still smiling and had a chat with her feigning ignorance as if I pulled the name "World Financial Group" out my rear end. And what do you know.... she thinks I made a lucky guess and was trying hard to recruit me. Nice try, but I ain't into rinky-dink MLMs.
But lemme tell ya, I led her on just to check out her sales skills & she kinda sucks...... no, actually she really really sucked bad. I can tell she ain't no closer. In fact, its rare that I find ANYONE in MLM that have good sales skills. (Tana, former Mary Kay rep, on The Apprentice being the exception. She's excellent & my favorite!!) I guess that's what happens when people get into an organization that stresses recruiting over sales skills. WFG has over 50,000 reps and only about 8,000 are licensed reps. The insurance and securities exams are relatively easy if you study a little bit, but for some reason, most of their reps are not licensed. Then again, who needs to be licensed if all you do is recruit to recruit?

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
