I personally believe that doing it with stuff from your attic or average stuff you pay money for is ridiculous. I'm no eBay expert and it's quite obvious to me that I never will be, but that has been my (little bit of) personal experience, and it's also what I have seen in the hours and hours and HOURS I have spent watching other people's auctions.

Or even a ridiculously inflated price. My best example of that is Legos -- especially Star Wars Legos. My grandson and I have been trying to get some things at halfway reasonable prices since Christmas and are about to give up. It's hopeless.
WHAT I WANT TO KNOW:
Where oh WHERE do people get such stuff (the "bidding war" kind of stuff)?
I would specialize in Legos in a minute and my grandson would have a business to step into, but I have no **clue** where to get them.
In our area, as far as I can tell, people are well aware of what they can get on eBay for just about everything, and you just don't find bargains. And obviously somebody is cleaning out the Legos long before the sales, because no matter how early I get there and no matter how many toys there are, there is never a Lego to be found.
Sorry... I didn't mean to drift... just meant to agree with what you said.
