In Response To: SMC (wanda)

I have been selling SMC products for 3 or 4 years. I sell both online and in the major shopping mall in a community of about 300,000. You will hear much about peopel 'can't give it away", but I sell it every day at leat for their suggested retail, often a dollar or two higher.

I also sell online virtually every day. I've sold online to the Smithsonian Institution, to many civic organizations, to many military organiztions for awards, etc.

They sell inexpensive, no brand name products. But they are a good value for the money. There are a number of very negative posts about them, all over the net. These are from people who spend $ 25 and expect the bucks to come in the front door. Doesn't happen. Not with SMC or any other company. You have to work at it.

Many of the complaints with SMC have to do with their e-commerce sites. Frankly, they are over-priced and I do feel like SMC preys on folks who think they can get rich with one of those sites. In fact, that is about the only negative thing I can say about them. Do not get one of their sites.

Other than that, they have a nearly 99% order-fill rate, they get orders out the door within 48 hours and they do stand behind anything damaged in shipment, or defective upon arrival.

They have received nearly $ 100,000 from me over the years. I would not continue to deal with them if I had any problems.

BUT - the dollars will not flow into your mailbox. You will need to have a good website, that you manage on your own, get out and establish some whoelsale customers, hold home parties, work flea markets, get a kiosk in a mall, etc. You can't just sit home in your dressing gown and make any money.

If you would like to start out small, without a major commitment, I can set you up as what they call a sub-wholesaler through me. You will not make as much, but you will not obligate yourself for a couple of hundred dollars, either.

I have a flat $ 25 fee for a startup kit consisting of all fo the catalogs, a how to brochure, order forms, etc. I'll even refund the $ 25 if you look it over and dont like it and you return it within 30 days.

You'll lose about 10$ in profit with me, but if you find you can sell the items, you are free to sign up with them at any time. It is not multi-level marketing, You will not "be under" me, you will be on your own with them.

I've made this offer on this board before, I've had people take me up on it, I've sent them the starter package and never heard from them again. Sending followup emails does no good, never get a reply. They simply donate $ 25. Well, I really don't make anything, considering the time, materials and postage required. I'd much rather get orders.

And don't plan on selling on ebay. It is saturated with SMC products.

To sum up - they have good stuff, the prices are reasonable, it can be sold, forget ebay, forget a never ending stream of money for no work and you can start off slow with me for a refundable total of $ 25 if I haven't talked you out of it by now.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.  You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual.  We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.
By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
