Balance transfer scam home based internet business scams

Posted By: Brian Andrews
Thursday, 24 March 2005, at 7:33 p.m.

I have been personally scammed too many times than I would care to admit.

This message is to warn my fellow internet business folk that
you should be very wary of any companies that want to offer you
internet business mentoring/website building hosting/ turn key business
opportunities/ ebooks/ ebay tricks /ebay exposed and all similar offerings.

There are so many fraudsters and scammers out to take your
hard earned money.

One tactic that is being effectively used by scam artists is to get you
to do a balance tranfer using your credit card. They will have you believing that by using a balance transfer is like getting free money to start
your business. They will say with our system/mentoring/program whatever
it is, you will be able to pay off the balance with the earnings of your new internet business and have a profit to show for it after the first
90 days. WOW !!! ISN'T THAT GREAT !! You will be making money from somebody elses money. They will have you believing that a balance tranfer is akin to leverage. You are using OPM (Other Peoples Money) to make you money.

If you get a sales call where someone says to you they are looking for a few key people for a new program but first we have to see if you qualify. Some of the questions will be like - Are you looking for a part time business? Do you have internet experience? ect.... Mainly what they want to find out is are you
the type of person that wants to get something for nothing and do you have a credit card with a large credit limit. They are setting you up.
Statements like , it takes money to make money, we are looking for decision makers , people who can be taught and are willing to learn , ect.......
These statement are meant to make you feel like you are going to taught by
real professionals, real mentors that will show you exactly how its done.

Well , if that is true , then the question you must ask to the salesman is,
so tell me how much is your personal website making?? If this program is SOOOOOOOO good then why don't you have your own website that can be making the kind of money you tell me I am going to make by buying your mentoring/training/website business program??

The answer is simple------- IT IS ALL A BIG LIE!!!

Before you buy anything --- ALWAYS check things out as much as you can.
The internet is great for searching out info on many companies.

Google.com is great to use. I have found that searching the website of
a so called great business opportunity being pitched will reveal much.
Like, is there a real physical address for the company. Is there a phone number
other than an 800 number? Is there a person in the contact information of the company? When doing a search has the name of the company come up with any complaints or spam alerts ?

You should also search for any links to other companies that have been
associated with the company you are being pitched. I know this sounds like
saying you are guilty until proven innocent , but, scammers are often connected to other scammers. How and why? They sell names to each other.
They will sell your name so that you can be pitched another scam. I know this
because this happened to me.

Good places to search - www.ripoffreport.com . Great site , free to search and post your own complaints.

www.worldwidescam.com - lots of bogus MLM scam exposed

utahscams.50megs.com- another list of many scams

http://welcometothefair.com/bamboozles/--- reviews of many business opportunities

Take care and don't let anyone rip you off again.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.  You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual.  We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.
By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example. You grant Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications complete, perpetual, but non-exclusive rights to use, archive, reproduce, adapt, modify, distribute, sub-license, repurpose, rework, compile, or offer for sale or resale the messages, postings or content appearing on this site in whole or in part, throughout the world and universe, on a royalty-free basis without remuneration.  If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board.
In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
