Dear Sir or Madam:
As a resident of Forsyth County, I would like to express my concern with the proposed plans for building a Wal-Mart SuperCenter on Highway 141 inSouth Forsyth County. I moved to South Forsyth County in March of 2004 and am a homeowner in Peachtree Court off of Highway 141. While I realize the potential for further development and growth in the area, I am concerned with the development being proposed.
I travel Highway 141 daily to and from my place of employment. The two lane road is heavily traveled by residents, construction traffic, school busses, etc. The two lane road does not handle the current traffic volume in a safe and efficient manner. Additional building such as a Wal-Mart SuperCenter without adequant roads to handle the volume of traffic produced by a retailer such as Wal-Mart is not smart growth.
Furthermore, Wal-Mart had a store on the corner of Highway 141 and State Bridge that they closed. To date, that building remains vacant. K-Mart built a huge store on the corner of Highway 141and McGinnis Ferry, only to close a year later and to date the majority of that building remains vacant! South Forsyth County residents already have a Wal-MartSuperCenter option on Highway 20, at exit 14 on GA 400less than 5 miles from my home.
Residents of SouthForsyth County living off of Highway 141 already have several grocery store options (Kroger at Highway 141and McGinnis Ferry; Kroger at the corner of Highway141 and Sharon Road; Publix on Highway 141 near the entrance to the Laurel Springs Subdivision; Ingles on Highway 141 and Highway 9). We have plenty of grocery stores and retail options already built and available to us.
We do not need another Wal-Mart SuperCenter inSouth Forsyth County! I would appreciate your consideration of this matter. Growth of retailers outpacing the expansion of roads and the growth of residents is not smart growth.

Yet if I go to their web site, I see merchandise, yet NO links to actually buy the stuff! Isn't that odd? They sell used watches, but have no way to buy them unless you email them. No phone. Red flags waving from every possible pole I can see.
You will do well to extricate yourself from this.
