That's why I stated #1; it is difficult to drive quality traffic to a site which will lead to sales.
I covered my bases Maw. I honestly thought that it might just be possible that this link was the one he found and it wasn't simply a drive-by. That's why I made my #1 the one where I warned him that just because you build it does NOT mean they will come. (and even if you get em to drop by it doesn't mean they will buy anything)
Folks, please PLEASE believe me on this one. There are some facts that everyone needs to realize, understand, and accept. It should be the Online Business Commandments.
1. There is money to be made online. But it takes work and lots of it. Anyone or anything that offers the riches without the labor is trying to mislead you.
2. Affiliate marketing is an awesome way to make money online but you have to know how to get lots of traffic to the affiliate link that wanted to be there and wasn't forced. Quality AND quantity should become the goals.
3. Noone who ever gave up succeeded.
4. There is always going to be someone out there who knows more than you do. Listen to everyone with an open mind and you will learn more which will give your business more of a chance at success.
5. Invest in yourself first. You could spent $1000 on some of the best resale products available but if you don't know how to sell them you will end up simply stuck with them. Instead of spending that $1000 on tangible goods, spend it instead on tangible knowledge.
6. The most impressive "gurus" don't bragg about it. They don't have to. Folks like Leslie, Mel, Jim K, Robbin T, Tony B., and the list goes on don't have to convince anyone that they know what they are talking about. They have made their marks in the online world. Listen to them more and the others who are busy promising you stuff less and you will be a whole lot more likely to succeed.
7. The best things in life are FREE! Seek it and you shall find it. Just about anything you want to learn about is available online free of charge. Want to know how to do a website? It's there for the taking. How about selling on ebay? Yup that is there too. Or perhaps you want to know how to write your own software. Uh huh, there too. You just have to be willing to invest the time to learn it.
8. Your time is worth money. Don't waste it. Treat it like it is actually something tangible in your bank account; manage it carefully and watch over it. Once you spend it you can't get it back.
9. Take time to spend with your family and friends. If you are working 120 hours/week are you really getting anything out of it? Sure your bank accounts might be running over with cash but at what cost to you the person.
10. Give back. Once you have mastered something and know a little about it, chances are you might be able to share it with others. Do it! Pass it forward and help others in finding the pathways to their dreams too.
Ok, there you have it. Am I a dreambuster? Naw.....I am a realist. But if you print those 10 Online Business Commanments out and work by them you won't go too far wrong. At least not in my humble....
Take care all as usual!
Jim

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. We are not responsible or liable for any claim arising from the content of any such discussions or postings or for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information contained within such locations on the Site. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law. You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual. We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
