In Response To: Why not let everyone be able to buy your book? (Bonnie Lee)

She is and has been selling them one at a time.

He point in targeting lawyers who specialize in adoptions was to shoot for volume orders of 50 to 1000 per order. That allows for a wide range of optional versions, features, etc.

Once the "promotional" copies reach the recipients, additional single orders could be generated, boosting the overall sales.

I'm in the promotional advertising business. Companies and professionals give away all kinds of products with their imprint on them. They benefit from having their name and message imprinted on them for repeat exposure.

I've made my living in this industry as a full-time, independent agent/dealer, selling ad specialties to all kinds of business, industry, and gov't clients since 1987.

Commission-only works for me for three primary reasons.

1. "Onesies" or single item sales are very rare. Most orders are for multiples from 5 pieces to 60,000 at a time.

2. Satisfied customers are likely to order repeatedly, and often more than just the one product. A long-term calendar customer may add a different gift item to their order each year.

Some companies have multiple needs and buyers for this advertising media. I have one hospital that has as many as 8 different buyers ordering through me.

3. Satisfied customers are a great source for leads and referrals to my next customer.

I started on a part-time basis in '84, and recently recognized a loyal clients for 20 years of buying from us. With 20 years behind me, I'm looking forward to 20 to 40 more. In forty years, if I'm still around, I'll just be 92.

The company I'm affiliated with offers two streams of incomes. Those who remain active in sales, can sponsor others to sell for them. The company pays the sponsor an override commission each month, based on their increased profits of the new orders.

I've been receiving over-rides since early '87 on a continuous basis.

I can definitely see where Lesley is coming from in pitching to lawyers.

I responded with a long email to her on multiple suggestions for getting bulk orders.

My no risk, no hype b2b sales opportunity!

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
