I came across a website about a program where some guy is selling info about Email Marketing to local businesses. Does anyone here do this or have they ever done it? He mentions placing ballot boxes inside stores for people to put in their email addresses. You would then create a mailing list for these businesses and they pay a monthly fee to you to manage their names. They provide you with the offers or discounts and you forward them to your customers. I guess it’s kind of like running a newsletter service for customers. The business gives you the info and you forward it on their behalf. I guess you can even put ads in the local paper to get people to submit their email addresses. It looks like a good idea.
I mean many businesses probably don’t even know who shops at their store. This would give them a way of keeping in touch. The email would be like a newsletter letting the customer know about the business. Here is the link that I saw:

The program is called local email profits. I have read other things about this but was wondering if this is workable. Would a business actually pay for this service? If they place the ballot boxes why wouldn’t they maintain their own names? I could swear that someone has posted info about this idea before.
