Mel will be here to answer for herself, but I took it to mean 80,000 books in the "real world" (i.e., in the bookstore) but that 1,200 ebooks could be considered "doing okay."
But I didn't come to speak for Mel -- just to add six cents of my own.
When I owned my transcription service, I ALWAYS kept too many eggs in one basket. When one account went belly-up (which they will do not matter how perfect your service is), I was devastated.
For the past year, I have been typing for the lady who bought my business and who STILL has too many eggs in one basket. Well, the eggs fell out. She lost the account to automation, and my ENTIRE income just evaporated.
I did it again!! I sat here with a false sense of security and it came back to bite me in the hiney.
STUPID STUPID STUPID!!
I've decided it will NEVER happen to me again. As I build my internet business to a living wage, I will be focusing on many (MANY!!) small income streams. No way am I going to depend on a single ebook to make my living, because sh** happens.
I'm not saying you're doing that -- just saying I don't think it's a bad thing to do merely "okay" with a single e-book. You've just gotta keep 'em coming.
