The reason is that the supporters of the program threatened to turn her board into a recruitment board for their program, and she felt she couldn't allow that.
Now, about freedom of speech: Guess what, it's not an absolute. Nobody-- I repeat, NOBODY-- gets the right to say whatever they want unless they own the media they're writing on, and even then you find that the community sets certain limits on what can and can't be said. Even big-name newspaper columnists have to carefully weigh what they put in their columns, or at some point their host newspapers may choose not to carry them any more.
If MaaMaw does nuke this dicussion, remember that it's her right as owner of this board. It may be her responsibility as well, to maintain the integrity of that which she has built up. If you want to say anything you like without fear of being nuked---- the Internet is a big place, and there are several systems that will allow you to set up your own board. I occasionally haunt a site that promises no censorship, in fact the guy who set it up did so for the purpose of NOT having his posts nuked by the moderators of another system he frequents--and occasionally gets in trouble at. (Grin.) He does allow quite a bit of latitude, in fact the only thing I know for a fact would get you tossed there is if you bring somebody's mother into the discussion in a derogatory way.

Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.
