My evidence shows that most, if not all, of the current crop of slick-o flash movie 1Up and 2Up MLMs are only recruiting by the use of spam. Sometimes the members spam. Sometimes they buy pre-qualified leads that are generated by spammers.
But contacting strangers to pitch the program is almost always driven by spam. Surely you don't believe that the fish just LEAP into the boat on their own?
And the statute of limitations is four years for CAN-SPAM violations. I assure you many lawsuits are in the works against spammers in programs such as you allude to.
If you know the exact method that your leads are generated by, and spam is not involved at any stage of the process - great! But you're in the tiny minority.
I've listened in on training calls, and the slickness is astounding, especially when they say things like "there are 600,000,000 people on-line and reachable by email."
Yeah, right. Spam and Lies. Go together like pickpockets and New Year's Eve crowds.
