Jimbo,I have worked in hospitals and clinics. I started out working as a house orderly, a surgical orderly and a nurses aid. I then went into the Air Force and was trained as a medic with additional training in allergy and immunology. I was an allergy technician for several years in the military and working with physicians in private practice. I then went back to school and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Like the question about "we don't know how asprin

You are absolutely right and I stand corrected. I meant to say Acetaminphen and not aspirin. There is a difference. There are theories and preliminary studies but the mode of action of acetaminophen is not entirely confirmed. Go to http://www.medicinenet.com/acetaminophen/article.htm.

I have no affiliation with any MLM groups whatsoever. I am neither for them nor against them. The information that I offered was only intended to show that Western Medicine does not have all the answers. Many times we are led to believe that they do and that all other forms of treatment are quackery. You are right, there are many other criticisms that I have also heard from my colleagues that I chose not to address in this forum. I also share your observation about the lack of medical knowledge that most marketers who sell pills, potions and lotions have. If you will look back on my post again you will see that I clearly agree that MLM fraud exists with regard to the health industry. I just happen to think that there are two extremes here and that logical answers can be found in the middle. As I said earlier, on one hand you have the medical elitists who would like nothing better than to monopolize the industry and keep the pharmaceutical machine running in high gear and on the other side you have the medical quacks(including those that distribute products through MLM or other sources) who don't give a rat's back side who they hurt as long as they make a buck. I happen to think that there is manipulation on both sides here. You will also recall that I stated that one DOES need to diligently research each company, their product or services, and any medical claims that they make. I happen to think that it is wise to look at a variety of sources when making a decision of this sort. Unfortunately, it seems easier for many folks to immediately believe one side or the other without researching all the facts first.

Yes, I am well aware of the damage that is done by those who have no formal training. I was simply trying to point out that mainstream physicians do not always have clean hands either. I believe that both natural and allopathic medicine have their place and neither side has the right to claim that they have all the answers.

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. We are not responsible or liable for any claim arising from the content of any such discussions or postings or for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information contained within such locations on the Site. You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual. We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
