A few weeks back, I ordered some 5,000 co-reg leads and uploaded them to my auto-responder. I, of course, got some expected removes, but what surprised me was that about 4,700 have stayed with it. Over about a 2-week period, these people got a sequence of 4 non-sales emails from me, featuring articles, tips, etc. None of them emailed me to ask questions, though. Is this odd? Well, early today, the fifth message went out, which includes a product review, with an affiliate link.
Granted, not all of the 5,000 were uploaded at the same time, but a good 2,500 or so got that message today. I went to the affiliate site of this low cost, high value product that I recommended, to track sales, and saw that of the 2,500 people who got my message, about 140 clicked through to the affiliate site. Out of those, 37 went back to read the letter again. No sales came of any of this. Some people might think it's a little too early to say if this campaign will produce or not, but I think the writing is on the wall: This thing isn't going to make me any sales. What options do I have at this point? Over the next week and a half they'll get a couple more messages from me featuring product reviews with aff. links. Then they will all be "archived" into my regular newsletter database. If this whole thing doesn't result in one solitary sale, are they worth keeping around? Are there any intro-sequence, copy consulting services out there? Any that guarantee results? Is this necessary?

Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.
